Q: Who qualifies to join the Quinebaug Valley Regional Rotaract Club?
A: Anyone between the ages of 18-35 who lives or works in the Quinebaug Valley (Putnam, Killingly, Thompson, Woodstock, Brooklyn, Pomfret). The Club is the perfect spot for a young professional interested in working with their peers in service to their community.
Q: Why does the Rotary Club sponsor a Rotaract Club?
A: Rotaract Clubs are intended to develop future members of Rotary (similar to the minor leagues of professional sports). A young person interested in Rotary can join Rotaract for an introduction to the concept of "Service Above Self." In a few years, Rotaract members gain the experience necessary to become contributing members of their sponsoring Rotary Club.
Q: When are meetings held?
A: The QVR Rotaract Club meets on the first and third Wednesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. Subcommittees meet on a varying schedule based on the availability of their members.
Q: How long do meetings last?
A: Most meetings wrap up within one hour, but can run between 1-2 hours in the weeks leading up to a Rotaract signature event.
Q: How can I join the QVR Rotaract Club?
A: We invite you to submit our Contact Us form. You can also drop in on a meeting - contact us to find out when our next one is!
